Tennis star Pete Sampras and his wife, actress Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, are the buyers of a $5.997 million Bel-Air estate previously owned by filmmaker Albert Brooks and, before that, Merv Griffin. The 5,100-square-foot home, described in the listing as “a modernist ski lodge,” has exposed lodgepole beams, skylights and a master suite with a sitting room and dual baths.
Yes, there is a tennis court, in case the retired King of Swings wants to whack it around a little. And, there’s a swimming pool. It sounds too good to be true, but Berg Properties blog also reports the home has a spa and a rain forest of real redwoods that sprinkle at the push of a button.
The sprawling new estate, which was purchased under a trust, is actually a downsize for the retired champion. He and Wilson sold a Thousand Oaks home under the same trust in 2013 for $13.56 million. They had originally listed the 16,000-square-foot home for $25 million in 2010 after living there for three years.
Their new home puts them at the end of a private drive in Bel-Air, off Mulholland Drive in the same neighborhood as Leann Rimes and Mariah Carey.
