Chris Webber Looking to Bounce His Fab Malibu Modern

Chris Webber was born and raised in Detroit and famously played basketball at the University of Michigan, but when the Fab Five split up and went their separate ways, Webber landed in California, where he played for NBA teams in Sacramento and Oakland among others.

Now, however, the retired NBA star and basketball analyst is looking to divest of his modern home in Malibu. Webber has listed the home at 20851 Big Rock Dr., Malibu, CA 90265 for $3.995 million. That’s just a little more than Webber’s $3.75 million purchase price back in 2007.
Webber has been a home hound since turning pro, owning as many as six homes in California, Atlanta and his native Michigan. And this Malibu modern was decorated by Webber’s longtime design collaborator, Alicia LaMar, who said Webber may not be a surfer, but he certainly enjoyed the outdoor space and 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean from Santa Monica to Point Dume that this home provides.
The home measures just under 3,000 square feet and while it’s not huge, its open spaces were designed to ensure Webber — or any owner — could revel in the setting. There’s a large deck, walls of glass and a generous master suite. Outdoors, there’s a private yard complete with lap pool.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Webber will turn 40 on March 1, so maybe the Turner Broadcasting analyst will be looking to replace this beachside abode with something to better suit a fortysomething house collector.
