After his home was broken into by the notorious Bling Ring, it didn't seem likely that Orlando Bloom was going to keep the Outposts property.
In his testimony to a Los Angeles grand jury, Bloom said the break-ins left him distrustful of those around him.
“You are like, ‘Who has been in my house?’ You know, the value of things kind of fades away,” he said. “It’s really about who is it. Who am I starting to question?”
Like many of the other stars burglarized by the group of teens, Bloom moved out, choosing to settle down in New York City with his wife, model Miranda Kerr.
Now it appears Bloom is ready to leave the Hollywood Hills home and its memories behind for good. He previously listed the property as a rental, but he recently put it on the for-sale market $4.5 million.
Bloom’s contemporary house is not only notorious for the break-in, but also for its unusual paint color. The entire exterior is covered is painted black (one officer in the Bling Ring case referred to it as the “bat cave“).
The listing doesn't hone in on that detail, instead focusing on the high-end features such as the lush gardens, pool with spa and chef’s kitchen with custom cabinets. The home sits on three-quarters of an acre with several entertaining patios that flow directly into the interior. The master bedroom features a huge walk-in closet and large bathroom with a separate tub and steam shower.
The Outposts area of Hollywood Hills has long been popular with celebrities. Salma Hayek recently listed her Outpost Estates home for rent, and Ryan Reynolds also once called the area home. Hollywood Hills has a median home value of around $1.382 million, with most homes currently on the market priced well above that.
The listing is held by Venessa Blair of Coldwell Banker.
