Cinco de Mayo Parties in Miami and South Florida

From tacos to cerveza, and even a lucha libre match, here are your best bets for Tuesday's Cinco Celebration

Break out the lime and salt. This Cinco de Mayo, here are the best places to drink tequila and wear a goofy sombrero and fake mustache. 
 
Miami-Dade 
 
American Social
Brickell Events is taking over American Social for their annual Cinco de Mayo fiesta. Admission includes a souvenir cup and party favors (sombreros and mustaches). There will also be live music by DJ Irie, a mariachi band and mini luchadores wrestlers. Tickets are $36 for general admission and $56 for VIP entry.

Gale Rooftop
At the Gale Rooftop take your frustrations out on one of the piñatas while you make your own margarita and listen to tunes by DJs Pirate Stereo and Fox Brothers.  For the animal lovers, a dog adoption station will be onsite at the free event, which lasts from 6 to 11 p.m.

Radio Bar
Instead of getting sloshed, you could always get some cocktail advice at Radio Bar, where there will be a free class from 7 to 8 p.m.  The bar’s head mixologist will teach guests how to make cocktails using Tequila Avion.

Oh! Mexico on Espanola Way
The biggest street party takes place in South Beach at Oh! Mexico’s annual festival. Starting at 6 p.m. the entire area along Espanola Way will be closed to cars to make way for a huge stage featuring live music, mariachis and senorita dancers.  Give a high five to one of the stilt walkers, or say, “hola,” to the restaurant’s favorite sexy ambassador, Margarita. Down the street, check out the newly opened Señor Frogs (1450 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) for more drink specials and sombrero searching.

Monty’s
Monty’s Sunset, with its beautiful marina and water views, will offer $5 margaritas and cheap eats such as chicken tortilla soup ($6), and chunky guacamole and tortilla Chips for you and your friends for $15.

Naked Taco
You can all but strip at Celebrity chef Ralph Pagano’s taco joint, Naked Taco,  where there will be drink specials including $3 drafts and $5 bottles of beer.  There will also be reduced priced tacos and mini-Mexican wrestlers to amuse you.

Bodega
Bodega Taqueria y Tequila will host an all-day neighborhood block party from noon to 5 a.m. featuring $5 Modelo beer and $6 margaritas and tacos from a food truck. Stop by in the evening for $5 shot specials, live music and free churros. There will be “shot chair” where two shot girls will be on hand to pour tequila in your mouth (the best guzzler wins a bottle of Dobel tequila). After all that drinking, play with the piñata, don a sombrero or try to make a beat with maracas.

Shelborne
At the Shelborne Grand Wyndham, from noon to 5 p.m. you can catch a tan poolside while a live mariachi band serenades you or dance the day away with Latin beats from the house DJ. The menu includes Mexican favorites such as carne asada tacos ($16) and chicken taquitos with pico de gallo ($10). Drink specials include margaritas ($12), Milagro tequila shots ($10), Michelada beer ($9), and bottles of Corona ($5).

Coyo Tacos
There will be some serious throwing down going on at Coyo Taco’s block party when famed masked luchador wrestler, Blue Demon Jr., competes. There will also be a pig roast, $5 tacos and margaritas, and a live mariachi band. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children.  The fiesta takes place from 5 – 10:30 p.m. with luchador matches at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.  If you plan to keep the party going, Quantic will spin from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Broward
Rocco’s Tacos
Consider taking the next day off for Rocco’s Tacos street party. The all-day shindig, which starts at noon and ends at 3 a.m., will feature prize giveaways, a mustache contest and drink specials on margaritas, tequila and Corona.

Tacocraft Street Party
Over on Himmershee Street, Tarpon Bend, Rok:Burger and Tacocraft are hosting a free street party from 6 p.m. – 2 a.m with live music by Latin Fusion band, Xperimento.

Taco Beach Shack
The older and more mature crowd will be at Taco Beach Shack’s annual beach party. The event will feature Corona and Corona Light beer bucket specials, a live Mexican band, dancers and a special menu with favorites such as taquitos, burritos and quesadillas.

Seminole Hard Rock
Tequila Ranch at Hard Rock is featuring drinks on the cheap ($3 Coronas and $5 Patron shots). If you’re hungry, try the tacos by executive chef Abimael Arreola, who hails from Chiapas, Mexico, starting at $2.
